
Salma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Jamesenez on September 2, 1966 is an American and Mexican actor and producer. Her career began in Mexico with starring roles in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as in the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) for which she was awarded an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were only some of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal as painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) which she also wrote and directed, was the first Mexican actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress[6In addition, she earned her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to make films her films, and also starred in action-oriented film Once Upon a Time in Mexico later on in her career.
