Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a multi-cultural household. She was born within South London. She has a father who is Nigerian and Swiss as well as her mother is English. She was raised in the south of a London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age fourteen. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained a BA degree in acting. While attending the school, she was a part-time actor in several stage productions such as The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe launched her acting career in the movie Storm Damage. She's appeared as a guest on Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer is her role in the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. The film's success has led her to be cast in Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. She then appeared in six episodes Trexx & Flipside in the role of Ollie. She also landed the part of Bambi on the ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl, appearing in episodes two and three. Madekwe was a part of the comedy How to Lose Friends and Alienate people (2008). Some of her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe was a part of Ashley Davenport in the ABC Drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode drama aired just the duration of two weeks The CW and then it came to an end. She was cast in February 2011 as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Following her appearance as a regular on the first two seasons, the show was announced late May 2013 that Madekwe was set to depart the series following a guest appearance in the first episode from the 3rd season. From 2014 until 2016, she starred in Salem as Tituba. Madekwe and her boyfriend of many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were wed in June of 2012. Apart from Secret Diary of a Call Girl they also appeared in tandem on Salem and also he played an appearance with her on the show on TV.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was born into a large family in Hamilton, Ontario. Her parents were Roy and Patty as well as her four brothers: Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. The four brothers of Ashley, each of them extremely athletic, played hockey during the winters and baseball in the summer months, which means that she grew up playing in parks and arenas. Ashley was unable to walk, but was able to dance. In the end, at the age of 2 when she was two, she began to learn about Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered a love for dancing when she began the Baby Ballet. Ashley was a professional dancer in all the major categories until the time she graduated from high school. She was a competitor in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe and Acrobatics. The major dance festivals, like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, have awarded her the title "top individualist".
