Allison Stokke, born in Newport Beach, California on 22 March 1989, is among America's most famous and wealthiest Pole Vaulters. She began her career as a pole-jumper in 2007 after she saw a photograph of her from a track meet when she was 17. Instagram and Twitter have helped her build a huge social media following. Stokke is an incredibly well-known athletics track and field player comparable to Jessica Ennis Hill. Los Angeles Times reported, in addition it claimed that Stokke did not seek out this public attention. Brett Hutchins and David Rowe in their book Technology Power and Culture in the Network Society linked Stokke to the cases of American soccer players Alex Morgan and Hope Solo women athletes they said were sexualized and had their images depicted in such a manner so as to minimize their athletic accomplishments. They also noted that Stokke's social media comments tend to be insulting, and attribute the sexualization of the process to the women. Women from other backgrounds drew parallels with the celebrations of Brandi's sports bra when she was awarded the FIFA Women's World Cup back in 1999. The women claimed that debates regarding appearance dominated sporting occasions for women. An editor who was on the Californian website for track and field captured photos of Stokke in New York at the beginning of 2007. The photos were published on the internet. With Leather, which has an active readership of males published the image in the month of May. They commented on Stokke's attractiveness and noted the fact that Pole Vaulting was Sexy but Barely Legal. Matt Ufford had threatened to sue the photographer for not removing the image. The story was popular and received much interest. Stokke became the focus of a website dedicated to her. The site featured several photos of Stokke taking part in pole vault. These images quickly spread across social media as well as online fan clubs, attracting thousands of people.
